Allure

In news that makes me want to jump up and scream (I can combine both my websites!) Royal Carribean has announced an iPad app for their signature wine bar, Vinatages. In a press release this week, RoyalCarribean said, “It is very interactive and will give guests the opportunity to learn about different wines, regions, and food pairings and also play games. Guests will be able to order wine and tapas and “set their table.” The order will automatically go the wine tenders to place the order. The service is only available on their newest ship, Allure Of The Seas and no information has been given as to whether the devices will be provided. This is not a new concept, as Royal Carribean’s sister company Celebrity X Cruises has been using iPads almost since they were introduced, for everything from menus to virtual art tours. Where will iPads fit in on a family-centered cruise line? We’ll have to wait to find out, as Allure launches in a week.
