Fake-A-Text by Excelltech Mobile is a great app on the App Store that lets you create spoof text messages for only $0.99.

Have a SMS conversation with the president or your favorite celebrity! Your friends will never know it’s fake unless you tell them! A Fake-A™ product from the makers of Fake-A-Call and Fake-A-Location!

Fake an incoming text from your boss, your wife, or a celebrity at the tap of an app! Script responses and have a full conversation! Get out of bad dates, impress your friends, and prank your enemies!

* Just like a real text!

* Responds to you when you reply!

* Configure up to 50 custom responses!

* Fake A Text at the press of a button, or have it delay and text you at a specified time!

* Set text generation to random and have Fake-A-Text generate an random excuse for you!

* Even after the pre programmed responses run out, Fake-A-Text keeps responding with vague affirmative words to keep the conversation going!

* Easiest and most fully functionally fake texting application!

See what the fuss is all about and download Fake-A-Text today! You’ll be glad you did!

Fake-A-Text is by far the best fake texting app out there in my opinion purely for the level of customization. When you open the app you get the Fake-A-Text screen when you choose when you receive the “text.” It can be any time you want. Any.

Next is the Setup Texts screen where you can choose the name of the texter and even the texts. You can even create scripts for the texts to make it even more believable.

Then there’s More Setup where you can choose the background, the wait screen and even set a password for the app. Add these together and you have one hell of a fake conversation with the non-existent friends you don’t have. :)

Functionality: 5/5 – Great! I fooled my mom.
Professionalism: 3/5 – Better than Fake-A-Call
Longevity: 5/5 – With scripted texts, pure sexy.
Creativity: 2/5 – It’s been done before.
Entertainment: 3/5 – Not really fun typing up a script on an iPhone/iPod using the portrait keyboard.
Total: 18/25 or 72%.
– Dennis
