How To Enable AirPrint On Any Printer (PC)

Nov 29, 2010 by

With the release of iOS 4.2.1, many users were excited about AirPrint. I was one of these people, but I was disappointed to find that it was only compatible with select printers. This guide will show you how to use AirPrint with any printer on a Windows PC.
Before you begin you must know that this has to be done on your host computer or the one that is connected directly to your printer via USB, serial or parallel cable. If you don’t have a host computer then this gude isn’t for you.
  1. Make sure your printer is on throughout the whole process.
  2. Download this to your desktop:.
  3. Extract it to your desktop.
  4. Open Command Prompt and enter this command:
  5. Windows 64bit- sc.exe create AirPrint binPath= “C:\Program Files (x86)\AirPrint\airprint.exe -s” depend= “Bonjour Service” start= autosc.exe start AirPrint
  6. Windows 32bit- sc.exe create AirPrint binPath= “C:\Program Files\AirPrint\airprint.exe -s” depend= “Bonjour Service” start= autosc.exe start AirPrint
  7. Open the extracted folder and run airprint.exe.
  8. On iDevice, locate photo, email or webpage that you would like to print.
  9. If things went right your printer should become active then begin printing your desired page.

Please note that you must run airprint.exe everytime you would like to print
