iBooty: Life Saver For Tethered iOS 4.2.1 Devices

Dec 24, 2010 by

Each update, Apple releases patches to exploits in previous
updates, which means losing your ability to jailbreak if updated. Until now the Dev-Team was able to release a jailbreak for the latest iOS update, 4.2.1, but it’s a tethered update, which means end-users need to connect their devices to a computer and use tools like Redsn0w on
each reboot of device.

iH8sn0w has come up with a tool: iBooty, the release date of which is still unknown. This tool basically is a one button tool and it helps the device boot up on every reboot, with the help of the file AFC2 that needs to be previously installed. Until now it’s only for Windows users; Mac users still
need to use Redsnow or TetheredBoot tools to boot their tethered jailbroken devices.
