Sad Christmas for Jailbreakers

An untethered jailbreak was supposed to be a gift from comex
to all members of the community but unfortunately, it will be delayed. Comex stated on Twitter that the deadline may not be Christmas.

On the other hand, he said “It’s probably going to be a Cydia package if I can get it to work.”

This means that no restore or re-jailbreak is required; it’s only going to be a new installation of Cydia to save time and effort for everyone. Even if he didn’t succeed, the Dev-Team already has a backup plan which includes using 4.2b3 SHSH blobs.

The method comex is providing is to be more efficient – according to comex himself and will be applicable to current iOS 4.2.1 device alongside devices that run on Apple’s A4 Chip.

Specific details remain unknown, but it is confirmed that an untethered jailbreak will be available to all iDevices soon.
