[EXCLUSIVE] iPhone Dev Team’s Jailbreak Monte Ported to Windows

NOTE: JAILBREAK MONTE IS A PRODUCT OF THE IPHONE DEV TEAM, IN NO WAY DO I TAKE CREDIT FOR IT. I SIMPLY MODIFIED IT TO WORK WITH THE WINDOWS PLATFORM.

Users of iOS 4.2.1 may be seeing some light at the end of the untether-tunnel with this recent development. I have successfully ported the iPhone Dev Team’s “Jailbreak Monte,” seen in the Mac OS X version of the latest Redsn0w, to Windows and implemented it via command line.

Project 421 (Windows 4.2.1 Untether)
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Tested Platforms

*iPhone 4
*iPod touch 2g (MC Model)
_________________________________________________________
Known Bugs

*Bluetooth Issues
*Random Boot Loops, Requiring a re-run of the process (Not too often)
*SpringBoard Crashes, Requiring (Untethered) Reboot ([Not too often] I Believe this is a Mobile Substrate issue.)

Development of “Project 421” will progress over time and with the help of select beta testers and the help of the iPhone Dev Team for Jailbreak Monte, we may have ourselves an untether for 4.2.1.

One thing I will watch out for is the release of Greenpois0n RC5 and Redsn0w 0.9.7 beta for Windows. I know the Chronic and iPhone Dev teams have a huge leg-up on me and I am unsure how far Project 421 will come along by the time one of the two is released. Due to the huge head start, I highly doubt I would beat either Dev Team to the release of an untether, but I will make this project high priority. Don’t let that disappoint you though, you now know it can be done and we will be seeing an untether (maybe from me) sometime in the near future
