Time Warner Cable releasing live TV app for iPad tomorrow

Mar 14, 2011 by

The Associated Press has recently reported that Time Warner Cable will be publishing an application for the iPad tomorrow that allows for live streaming of TV.

The app will be a free download available Tuesday morning but will require the user to subscribe to both their TV and Internet services.

CEO and president Rob Marcus has stated that thirty channels will be available in HD at the start but more will come soon.

The company did say that on-demand use and iPad remote use will not be available in the first installment of the app, possibly to come later.

Are you getting this app? Does the prospect of free live TV streaming lure you into potentially subscribing for Time Warner services? Comment or tweet us and let us know!

It seems pointless to have an app which only allows you to stream TV inside your home. I presume the comfort of a living room TV is much better. I use the Remote Access app from my employer, DISH Network, to stream DVR recordings and live TV anywhere to my Android. Nothing compares!
