PlayStation Network hacked from Amazon Web Services?

May 15, 2011 by

PSNAfter a lengthy downtime ordeal because of hackers intruding the PlayStation Network, it is finally back online after a firmware update.

Bloomberg has since claimed that the attack originated from Amazon AWS — Amazon Web Services, a cheap cloud hosting platform and that it was accessed from a false AWS account.

Sony initially placed blame on Anonymous for the hacking and Anonymous has denied it multiple times; but there’s no denying that this attack was huge.

Sony has promised better security in the PlayStation Network, whether it works, we’ll just have to wait and see.
