Amazon App Store

After Apple filed for Amazon to be banned from using the Appstore term, Amazon will most likely win and be allowed to use the term after all.

Apple sued Amazon because Apple first coined the term “App Store,” and had complained when Amazon’s Appstore had spawned.

Amazon called Apple’s claims preposterous because they claimed an app store was a generic term.

The judge, Phyllis Hamilton, states that Apple is unable to show confusion created amongst consumers of Amazon were to use that name and that Apple’s request will probably be denied.
