JailbreakMe 3.0 Situation (part 1 of 3) — ignore the hysteria

Jul 5, 2011 by

After the recent controversy with comex’s PDF exploit being leaked, an eye-burning haze of confusion, rage, anticipation and trolling has surrounded the jailbreak community, Twitter timelines and the blogosphere. This has also lead to two major misunderstandings.

One: Due to the fact that comex did not release the jailbreak shortly after, he must be delaying it.

Two: JailbreakMe will not happen because the domain is gone. Both are a result of a normal affair corrupted by the hysteria in the community.

A basic software release cycle may look like Alpha -> Beta -> Release Candidate and finally, Final Release. As the jailbreak was leaked in its beta stages, and while it may work, there is still much more work to be done.

NOTE: At the moment the domain is up, displaying a simple message on a sticky note.

The last thing comex needs at this time is this hysteria. Please, give him his time. It will come soon enough.

To be continued in part 2 of 3.
