HTC Desire Z Review

Aug 17, 2011 by

I recently got an HTC Desire Z smartphone for my birthday present, and thought I would speak about the device here.

About HTC:

  • Taiwaniese
  • Android
  • Windows Phone

I would rate the brand 4.5/5.

About the device:

I like the phone mostly because it supplies you with a physical qwerty-keypad, which helps me write much faster. I also like the operating system, Android 2.2 Froyo, and as the icing on the cake, it comes with the beautiful HTC Sense that makes it a wonderful phone to use. The screen on the phone is very bright and clean. It’s nearly, but not just as good as the iPhone 4 retina display. The screen is a touchscreen, of course, but sometimes you will experience a bit of lagging. The touchscreen will not always respond the way you want, but for a user with a jailbroken iPod touch like me, it’s just awesome. The Android OS is quite easy to learn and to use, which makes it a good phone for new users not familiar with the OS.

I was not that happy though with the battery life, it run out in a day of use.

Pros:

  • Great display
  • Physical keypad
  • HTC Sense
  • Fast processor

Cons:

  • Low battery life
  • Lagging
  • Rare freezes

Nevertheless, it IS still a great phone even taking into consideration its cons.

I would give this phone a rating of 5/5!

Go buy it, in Finland its only 300 €.
