Walgreens and Express Scripts
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.
Walgreens is part of Express Scripts’s pharmacy provider network. Recently, Walgreens and Express Scripts were in negotiations to renew their contract but the negotiations failed and the contract expired on December 31, 2011. As of January 1st, Walgreens is no longer part of Express Script’s pharmacy provider network creating a whole slew of hassles for existing customers. Affected customers include customers of Walgreens pharmacies nationwide and Duane Reade pharmacies in New York. Affected customers are those with certain prescription insurance plans who now have to travel greater distances to fulfill their prescriptions.
To help with the transition, Walgreens is offering a special discount on its Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens; for $10, you can cover your whole immediate family and for $5, you can cover an individual.
Other benefits of Walgreens pharmacies include:
- big savings on 8000+ brand name medications
- savings on all generic medications
- discounts on flu vaccinations
- discounts on pet prescriptions
- discounts on nebulizers
- discounts on diabetic services
- bonuses when you purchase Walgreens products
We encourage you to continue to support Walgreens by liking Walgreens on Facebook and following Walgreens on Twitter.
Hopefully, Walgreens can make it through this transition with the least amount of disruption as possible but they need your help to do so!
